Whatever happens in the referendum on the UK’s membership of the EU next Thursday, there will be a lot of conflicting emotion around afterwards. The campaign has not shown British political life at its best, with misrepresentations, falsehoods, and personal animosity from both sides wreaking great harm on the body politic. St John’s will be open for prayer from 3pm on Saturday 25th June, after we know what’s happened. The Blessed Sacrament will be available as a focus for prayer for reconciliation and reparation, and the time will probably finish with Evening Prayer for those who might like to take part. We’re hosting the Royal School of Music exams that afternoon, but that shouldn’t disrupt anyone who wants to spend some time in quiet prayer.

I’m extremely sorry I missed this: such a good idea. Prayer is currently needed in bucket-loads…
